Tour itinerary
DAY 1
Pick up
The tour starts with the pick up of the tourist from the door of his hotel at approximately 5 am. The tourist must share the name of his hotel and be ready for the pick-up. Hotels located in the historic center of Cusco are accepted (most hotels are in this area).
Trip to Machu Picchu
On board a tourist minivan you will take a short trip to the Wánchaq station in the center of Cusco. There you board the Peru Rail Bimodal tourist bus. This service is comfortable and safe, it will take you through the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas until arriving at Ollantaytambo station, after a journey of almost 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo, the visitor will have some free time for last-minute shopping (such as snacks, coffee, or empanadas). Then he/she will board the Expedition train of Peru Rail. The train offers a comfortable and safe trip with tourist services included, such as the sale of snacks and drinks on board, staff attention in each car, background music with tourist information during the trip, and more. During the route, the tourist will appreciate the beautiful landscapes of the Vilcanota Valley through the wide windows. After a journey of 1 hour and 40 minutes, we arrive at Machupicchu town or Aguas Calientes, a very special town for its scenic beauty and a large number of tourist services. There you board a comfortable tourist bus that, in a trip of only 30 minutes, will take you to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu. There, finally, the visitor will meet his tour guide.
Tourist circuit through Machu Picchu
Together with the tour guide and the rest of the group, you will take the tour of Machu Picchu through Circuit 2, considered the most recommended. The circuit includes the classic photo in the sector of the Guardian’s House. It also includes the visit to the most famous Inca constructions, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Temple, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the Sacred Rock, and the Temple of the Condor. After the visit to Machu Picchu, if the visitor hires the buffet service, he/she should visit the restaurant of the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel, the only one located next to Machu Picchu. Otherwise, you will have to go down by bus after the visit to Machu Picchu. In the town of Aguas Calientes, the tourist has free time for lunch (not included in the tour) or just stroll through its picturesque streets.
Return to Cusco
At the time indicated by your tour guide the visitor must board the Expedition tourist train for the return trip to Cusco. The trip lasts 1 hour 40 minutes and includes comfortable, safe, and beautiful views. In Ollantaytambo, the tourist will have to transfer to a Peru Rail bus that, in almost 2 hours, will take him to the Wánchaq station. There a tourist transport will be waiting to take you to the door of your hotel in Cusco. The tour ends at approximately 9 pm.
DAY 2: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR (VINICUNCA)
Pick up
The tour to the 7 Colors Mountain begins with the pick up of the tourist at the door of his hotel in the center of Cusco at approximately 5 am. Then, aboard a tourist transport, the visitor makes a trip southeast to the town of Cusipata (a route of 1 hour 45 minutes on average).
Breakfast and a trip to Vinicunca
In Cusipata the visitor will enjoy a buffet breakfast at the tourist restaurant La Montana, which includes bread, coffee, yogurt, cereals, fruits, jams, tequeños, potatoes, and more. Breakfast will take about 1 hour. Then the group will continue the trip by tourist transport to the village of Phulawasipata, at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level. This trip takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. In Phulawasipata begins the famous hike to Vinicunca. Optionally, not included in the tour, the visitor can rent a horse to complete the route of almost 3 kilometers surrounded by high mountains. The hike takes, on average, 1 hour 30 minutes.
Visit Vinicunca, have lunch, and return to Cusco.
In the Vinicunca the tourist will enjoy one of the most famous landscapes of Cusco and Peru. And this is at an elevation of 5 thousand meters above sea level. The guide will accompany you throughout the trip. The return trip follows the same route: on foot to Phulawasipata. Then, by minivan to the town of Cusipata where you will stop to enjoy a buffet lunch in Cusipata (La Montana restaurant). Lunch is varied with soups, pasta, rice, meats (chicken, alpaca, fish), causa rellena, potatoes, fruits, stews, menestras, and more. After lunch, again in the tourist transport, the return trip to Cusco takes place. The tour concludes in a central square or at the door of the tourist’s hotel in Cusco at approximately 5 pm.
DAY 3: HUMANTAY LAGOON TOUR 1 DAY
Pick up
The tour to the Humantay lagoon begins with the pick up of the tourist at the door of his hotel in the center of Cusco at approximately 4 am. Then, aboard a tourist transport, the visitor makes a trip southeast to the town of Mollepata (a route of 2 hours 45 minutes on average).
Breakfast and route to Humantay
In Mollepata the visitor will enjoy a buffet breakfast in a local tourist restaurant, which includes breads, coffee, yogurt, cereals, fruits, jams, tequeños, potatoes, and more. Breakfast will take approximately 45 minutes. Then the group will continue the trip by tourist transport to Soraypampa camp, at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level. This trip takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. In Soraypampa begins the famous hike to the Humantay lagoon. Optionally, not included in the tour, the visitor can rent a horse to complete the 2 kilometers uphill route, a hard route but suitable for everyone. The hike takes, on average, 1 hour 30 minutes.
Visit the Humantay, lunch, and return to Cusco.
In the Humantay lagoon, the tourist will enjoy one of the most idyllic landscapes of Cusco. In the company of his tour guide the visitor will enjoy its beautiful landscapes of turquoise waters surrounded by high snow-capped mountains like the Salkantay. After enjoying the lagoon for about 1 hour, the visitor will start the return trip on the same path that was ascended. In Soraypampa the visitor will board again the tourist transport to the town of Mollepata. In Mollepata the visitor will enjoy a buffet lunch that includes: soups, pastas, rice, meats (chicken, alpaca, fish), causa rellena, potatoes, fruits, stews, menestras, and more. After lunch, again in the tourist transport, we return to Cusco. The tour concludes in a central square or at the door of the tourist’s hotel in Cusco at approximately 5 pm.
